Members of BB&E’s Northville team recently spent a day giving back to the local community by volunteering with The Greening of Detroit, a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing Detroit’s urban forest and creating healthier, greener neighborhoods throughout the city.

Founded in 1989, The Greening of Detroit works to improve quality of life through tree planting, environmental education, workforce development, and community engagement. Over the past three decades, the organization has helped plant more than 177,000 trees across Detroit, Hamtramck, and Highland Park, creating lasting environmental and community benefits throughout the region.

During the volunteer event, BB&E team members and their families worked alongside community volunteers to plant trees that will contribute to Detroit’s growing urban canopy. Urban tree planting plays an important role in improving air quality, reducing stormwater runoff, mitigating urban heat, and creating more vibrant, welcoming neighborhoods for residents.

A special thank you goes to Hadley Haas, Environmental Scientist, for organizing the event and bringing the team together for this meaningful opportunity. Through her efforts, employees and family members were able to connect with one another while making a positive impact in the community.

The day was filled with teamwork, hands-on service, and a shared commitment to environmental stewardship. By contributing their time and energy, volunteers helped support an organization whose work continues to strengthen Detroit’s neighborhoods and invest in a greener future for the region.

At BB&E, employee ownership extends beyond the workplace. Events like these reflect our commitment to taking pride not only in the work we do for our clients, but also in the communities where we live and serve. By supporting initiatives that promote environmental sustainability and community wellbeing, our employee-owners help create a lasting impact for future generations.

We extend our sincere thanks to all of our volunteers for making this event a success. Their dedication and service demonstrate the power of coming together to create positive change in our community.
